At the Puerto Rico home
Ask management about move hours, elevator reservations, loading spaces and any required notice. Tell your provider about the floor, stairs, walk from unit to vehicle and any furniture that needs disassembly.
At the mainland home
Check the destination building’s move-in window and loading procedure. Some buildings request advance documentation from the service provider. Give those requirements to the provider before a delivery date is arranged.
If dates do not line up
A lease ending before your receiving home is available creates a gap. Explain it early and ask about storage, access to stored goods and redelivery in writing. Keep an essentials bag with you so that the gap does not become an emergency.
