The shipment is more than a bedroom count
A studio can contain oversized furniture and an inventory-heavy apartment can be compact. List the large pieces, approximate box count, fragile items and any specialty handling. Ask the provider what measurement or inventory assumptions are used in the written proposal.
Two homes, multiple stages
Pickup access in Puerto Rico, preparation, transportation across the water and delivery to your mainland address all need to be understood. Clarify whether the proposal reaches your home or another handoff point. Ask who coordinates each stage and how changes are handled.
Optional work and timing
Packing, materials, storage and vehicle shipping can change the service scope. Request a clear breakdown and identify which charges are optional. Share your earliest acceptable pickup, arrival flexibility and when the receiving property will be ready. A provider can explain availability for your actual route.
Compare proposals fairly
Check the same inventory and addresses against each proposal. Look for the provider name, written scope, included work, possible additional charges, valuation or protection terms, and delivery arrangements. A low number without the same scope is not a useful comparison.
