Give the neighborhood, driveway and parking details. If the property is inside a gated development, share entry instructions and any restrictions on larger vehicles.
Describe any separate storage unit, parking limitation or building reservation when you request options. A provider needs to understand the actual collection point, not just the city.
Decide what will travel
Sort large furniture before you request a proposal. Measure pieces against the mainland home and flag storage, stairs and fragile items.
Set aside documents, medication and a few days of essentials for your own trip. Make condition notes and photographs for valuable or fragile pieces before packing.
Connect departure with delivery
If closing or lease dates are moving, explain the flexible pickup window and the first date the mainland address can receive delivery.
Share the final mainland city and home access details. Ask about ocean transportation, the receiving handoff and who will contact you to arrange delivery. Do not treat an early planning estimate as a guaranteed arrival date.
